  • 06:00pm - 07:30pm  Understanding Employment For Students With Low Needs for Supports

Many find that transition supports, especially those related to employment, struggle to provide the same level of attention and opportunities to students with low and moderate support needs that they do to those who require the most support. This can lead to gaps in the quality and effectiveness of the care these students receive -- and sometimes cause them to not receive support at all. This webinar tailors the conversation around employment-related services to the needs of students who are at risk of falling through the cracks due to requiring lower levels of support.

Learn the basic items you need to adapt toys and opportunities to provide communication and active participation through play. This session will help participants go beyond making a switch an activity for an individual with complex communication and access needs. It will take a deeper dive into the need to go further in an activity to construct language opportunities for growth using a variety of examples (e.g. high, mid, light tech) while highlighting the need for a total communication approach.
