Human Care Services in Brooklyn is sponsoring a Succos event on Thursday September 27, 2018 from 11:00 am-5:00 pm. This event which will take place at Aviator Sports Center, will feature Uncle Moishy and a lineup of famous performers, rides, acrobats, free drinks and refreshments, and much more. OhelGroup Home Openings Available

Ohel Bais Ezra’s Residence in Kensington currently has an opening for three women.   The residence is a two story home consisting of six double occupancy bedrooms. The women are in the group are youthful and vibrant, and love being active in the community. The home also enjoys an array of onsite activities including art, drawing, cooking and dance. The women of the home benefit from a mixture of longstanding staff which contribute to a familial and warm home environment, and youthful staff who bring energy and excitement to daily activities. The women are given opportunities to pursue their interests, develop friendships and feel a sense of acceptance and belonging. They women participate in the local community, attending local shuls on Shabbos and maintain friendships with local community families.

 

A supportive apartment in Flatbush is available for one female 30’s-40’s.  The person we are looking for is independent, able to medicate independently, be employed or engaged in other meaningful activity.  Supportive apartment staff are not 24 hours . They are there to assist the women hone their skills for independence while helping to them integrate successfully into their local community. 

 

A residence in Flatbush has an opening for one male, late 20's to early 40's, who needs 24 hour supervision.  Many of the men  in this home have Moderate Intellectual Disabilities.

The American Association for People with Disabilities (AAPD) has redesigned its online career center at www.jobs.aapd.com  Job seekers with disabilities can look for employment with leading employers at the site. Leading companies and universities will also use the site to find qualified and diverse candidates for various opportunities.

 

New Medicare Cards

Beneficiaries throughout the country will continue to automatically receive new Medicare cards, with New York, New Jersey and several others in the Northeastern states to be the latest group that will receive them in the mail. The card will have a new and unique Medicare number instead of the beneficiary’s social security number, which is meant to protect people from fraud and identity theft. The old card should be destroyed.

Daven At Kivrei Tzaddikim

Join a fellow Beineinu parent, Rabbi Yosef Gesser, author of Hamodia’s “Monuments to Nobility in Our Backyard” for a visit to local Kivrei Tzaddikim IN Brooklyn’s Washington Cemetery on 7 Tishrei/Sept. 16. It is a wonderful opportunity during the Aseres Yemei Teshuvah to daven for a good year and yeshuos such as shidduchim, refuos, success with children, etc. Learn about Rabbanim and great Jews who helped build Yiddishkeit in America. Special Ed Information Hotline

The Haifa municipality has opened a special hotline for all special-education-system questions. The hotline will run until  September 20, from 8:30 am – 2:30 pm. Topics can include any question pertaining to schooling, including: placements, eligibility for hasa’ah (transportation), melaveh, va’adot hasama (placement committees), parents’ dilemmas, emotional support, etc. Call: 1700-50-7002, ext. 1.
