Shidduchim---L’Chaim Shidduch Organization’s Shevat Global Community Event is scheduled to take place from Rosh Chodesh Shevat through Tu B’Shevat, Tuesday, January 16 – Wednesday, January 31, 2018.  Join women the world over who are facilitating community and intercommunity shidduchim.  Take the initiative to organize and/or attend a Shidduch meeting.

There is a special need to facilitate Shidduchim for disabled singles. Weekend Respite---Menucha Services in conjunction with Rayim is opening a weekend respite program in Brooklyn for ambulatory religious girls & young boys. Free New Jersey IEP Reviews--- The Arc of New Jersey Family Institute is offering regional IEP reviews for families who may have questions or concerns about their child's plan. Families will have an opportunity to sit down with an attorney from Hinkle, Fingles, Prior & Fischer to review their child's IEP, ask questions, and discuss any concerns they may have about their school district.   Space is limited and registration is required to attend. Tactile Graphics--- The Andrew Heiskell Braille and Talking Book Library in New York invites you to a series of free winter skill-building workshops where you can learn how to use freely available equipment in the library to create your own tactile graphics and 3D models to make spatial information more accessible.
Whether you’re a blind or visually impaired person who needs to make graphs, drawings and models for yourself; a mobility instructor, museum educator, teacher, parent or friend who wants to create graphics and models for someone else; or an artist, designer or data visualization professional who wants to learn more about making high-quality, non-visually meaningful designs, these workshops are here to help you get started. Group Home Opening--Ohel Bais Ezra’s Residence in Kensington currently has an opening for two women.   It is a two story home consisting of six bedrooms with most of the rooms being shared by two women. The women of the home are in their late 30’s and above, are youthful and vibrant, and love being active in the community. The home also enjoys an array of onsite activities including art, drawing, cooking and dance. The women of the home benefit from a mixture of longstanding staff which contribute to a familial and warm home environment, and youthful staff who bring energy and excitement to daily activities. It is a supportive, person-centered environment where they are nurtured and respected by their circle of support and given opportunities to pursue their interests, develop friendships and feel a sense of acceptance and belonging. The women attend local shuls on Shabbos and maintain friendships with local community families.
