Join “We The People” Petition---The Centers For Medicare & Medicaid, the government agencies that pay for medical care and equipment, are changing the formulation they use for paying for complex custom wheelchairs. The new formulation would consider all parts besides the base frame—such as the seating system, supports, etc---“accessories” and drastically affect the reimbursement formula. This would severely affect the heath and functioning of many thousands of disabled people that rely on complex wheelchairs with custom components in their daily lives. Make your voice heard!
A petition has been posted on the president’s “We The People” website asking him to intervene to reverse this decision which can drastically reduce the quality of life of so many disabled people. Please sign the online petition and ask all your contacts to sign, too. https://petitions.whitehouse.gov//petition/stop-medicare-making-inappropriate-cuts-complex-wheelchair-accessoriesWhen you sign the petition, you will receive an email asking you to confirm your action. Your vote will not be counted until you confirm!
