Phantom Limb Pain Study---A research study is being conducted to see if putting local anesthetic through one or two tiny tubes placed next to the nerves that go to an amputated limb will decrease and/or resolve phantom limb and stump pain. The procedure, device, and infusion are all FDA approved for decreasing surgical pain. Participants will receive $100 following each catheter insertion plus $50 per day during the 6-day infusions up to a total of $800 per subject.

This study is being conducted at the University of California, Cleveland Clinic, Walter Reed Army National M8ilitary Medical Center, Palo Alto Veterans Affairs Medical Center, and Naval Medical Center. Yevulim Vocational College – Yevulim, along with AMICHAI, is starting a new program through the Misrad Harevacha for high functioning people with cognitive-developmental delays. The vocational college, Yevulim, offers a new opportunity for people ages 21-35 to receive higher education. Studies take place 5 days a week, 7:30 AM -3:30 PM in a peaceful, green ecological farm in Kfar MELEL (near Hod Hasharon). Learning includes theoretical and practical studies in the fields of ecology, farming, healthy kitchen and others… and life skills will be practiced, along with work skills and social skills, with the goal of integrating into jobs in the community.
