Behavioral Health---A Commission has been set up to help evaluate how the Rockland County (NY) Dept of Community Behavioral Health can better service the county.  They are planning on putting together several focus groups. There will be a focus group for religious women to provide feedback to the county regarding Behavioral Health:

  • What they are doing right
  • What needs improvement
  • What is missing /What do we need
  • Identifying gaps in services

They are planning to meet sometime in the near future. The proposed program is a group meeting for them to present a short program on what it is they are looking to accomplish with the task force (possibly planning to redesign the system). Comments will be welcome at that time or by a private follow up phone conversation. The phone follow up can be done anonymously. This way no one has to share anything of a personal nature in a public forum, but would have the ability to share if they feel it would shed light on the services or lack thereof in the county.

If you or anyone you know are interested in participating, please contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. They are welcoming comments from anyone be it professionals, volunteers or those this first hand experiences with mental health, addictions - behavioral health.
