Caregiver Support—Ohel is beginning a support group in New York for the “sandwich generation”—those who are caring for both children and aging parents. Meetings are led by an Ohel geriatric specialist, and will take place on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month. Sessions will be available at 1:00 pm or 7:00 pm, to suit caregiver’s needs. Religious Men’s Group Home—A new group home will be opening this summer which will be a branch of the Beit Elishav – KMAH Association community in Kibbutz Harduf. The home is designed for people who are defined according to the criteria of the Dept of Rehabilitation of the Revacha. The residents of the home will work at various jobs, fit for their needs, in the community. In addition, they will enjoy workshops and enrichment classes which will provide a therapeutic space which will develop and enhance their skills. Independent life will be fostered within the larger community of the kibbutz. The residents will take part in running the classes, workshops, in social relationships with the residents, extending invitations to their homes, etc. All the services in the community will also be available for the residents: synagogue, swimming pool, health clinic, library, etc. For more info:
