Ostomy Legislation—There is legislation pending in New York State to require all major insurance companies to cover ostomy supplies for people who have undergone ostomy surgery and need to wear an ostomy pouch for the rest of their lives. (see What is an Ostomy?) If you are a NY resident, you can help by signing these petitions:

Accessible Minivan Wanted—A wheelchair-bound driver in the New York area is looking to purchase a late model accessible minivan in top condition. Must have ramp and tie downs for driver’s wheelchair. If you know of someone selling such a vehicle, please contact
Dating & Marriage Skills Group—YACHAD is starting a group for individuals aged 21-34 who have Asperger’s or other social or communication challenges. The group will focus on fostering meaningful and lasting relationships with people of the opposite gender. Meeting will take place weekly in Manhattan. Contact 212-613-8325,

Parent Survey—Fathers Connect is preparing a series of workshops on the various benefits available to the disabled. In order to produce the most effective program to deliver this information, they want your feedback. Please take the following survey:
1. Which of the 4 topics (Legal, Kupat Cholim, Bituach Leumi, privileges) do you want more information about?
2. What specific question do you want answered?
3. Which format would you most likely attend:
a. an evening presentation in which each of the speakers talks about his area of expertise and then answers questions;
b. an "information fair" in which speakers will make scheduled talks on specific issues (which would be advertised in advance), and you are free to roam about at your choice;
c. a webinar format online that would allow interaction from the listening audience;
d. a webcast that would be presented online which you could access at your leisure but without interaction with the speakers.
