NYC Homeowners—There will be a free tree giveaway this Sunday, April 28, at the Boro Park Y Senior Center in Brooklyn from 11:00 am-1:00 pm or until the trees are distributed. Four species of trees are available—Centennial Star Magnolia, Royal Purple Smoke Tree, Dawn Redwood, and Brown Turkey Fig. One tree per household. Must be planted on private property in NYC.

Asperger Research-- For research testing how characteristics of Asperger syndrome come to fruition through art, we are looking for participants ages 6-12 who study in elementary school, in a regular setting or in a kitat tikshoret. Participants will be asked to draw human forms and their parents will be asked to answer a short questionnaire. This research is being conducted under studies for an MA in the University of Haifa. Abstract Language Research—Research is being done on the understanding of abstract language in people with mild to moderate cognitive disability. The research is based on Prof. Reuven Feurstein's method of learning through mediation, and includes a short program which is geared to strengthen the understanding of abstract language. Participants with Down Syndrome ages 14-21 are needed to participate in this research consisting of 3-4 sessions of 45 minutes each at a place convenient to you. Contact Shlomit, 052-659-1101.
Make A Sick Child Happy. Lev Malka is asking parents of 3 year old boys having their chalakah (upsherin) on Lag B’Omer in Meron to save the long hair and donate it to Lev Malka (www.levmalka.com ). The hair will be used to make wigs for children struggling with cancer who have lost their own hair during treatments.
