National Down Syndrome Society

The Joshua O'Neill and Zeshan Tabani Enrichment Fund offers financial assistance to young adults (18+) who have Down syndrome and wish to continue to enrich their lives by enrolling in postsecondary programs or taking enrichment classes that will help them to enrich life through employment, independent living skills, life skills or another way.  All applications must be postmarked or emailed by July 15th.

The Maggie Welby Foundation offers scholarships for children grades Kindergarten through twelfth grade.  The scholarships are awarded annually to children who demonstrate a financial need, and complete the Maggie Welby Foundation Scholarship Application.

The Special Education Bridge Loan Program provides interest-free loans to low- and moderate-income residents of New York City’s five boroughs, Westchester, and Long Island to help them access appropriate special education for their special needs children.

Loan applicants must have annual pre-tax household income at or below the income limits for their household size. If your annual pre-tax household income is slightly above the limit on the chart below, please contact Ivy Ip, Special Education Program Coordinator, at This email address is being protected from spambots. Special Education Bridge Loans provide school tuition while the family awaits reimbursement or payment from the NYC Department of Education (DOE) or their local school district. Loans are provided once a fully-executed stipulation of settlement, hearing decision, or pendency agreement/order is obtained from the DOE or school district. The loans are immediately repayable from the settlement or award proceeds when such proceeds are received by the borrower’s attorney.

 

Ohio

The Jon Peterson Special Needs Scholarship

The Jon Peterson Special Needs Scholarship provides scholarships to Ohio special education students to attend an alternative public school or a registered private school. The scholarship enrollment period is from October to November 15th.
