The Maggie Welby Foundation offers grants for children and families that have a financial need for a particular purpose.  Grants may extend to children and families in need of help with bills, athletic opportunities, medical needs, or an opportunity that a child would not otherwise have.  All grants are awarded to the family, but are paid directly to the specific purpose for which the grant was applied.  Organizations that directly benefit children can also receive grants on an annual need.

Every quarter, Danielle’s Foundation awards a grant of $1000 to $5000 to one child or young adult with Cerebral Palsy or brain injury to get necessary care that insurance has denied.  Deadline for applications is March 31, June 30, September 30, and December 31.  They also have frequent giveaways of equipment to a lucky applicant.

An organization providing grants for children with life threatening conditions.Quarterly grants are awarded for educational scholarships and helping families with financial need in paying their children's medical expenses.Family income is taken into consideration.

 

Helping Hands

A program providing grant funding for medical treatment, lab testing, medications and supplements not covered by the family’s insurance. Autism Cares

Autism Cares provides support for families affected by autism during natural disasters and other catastrophic life events. They helps families to cover costs associated with critical living expenses such as housing, utilities, car repair, day care, funeral expenses, and other essential items on a case-by-case basis. Families must complete an online application and identify vendor(s) to be covered by the support award. Grants are awarded on a monthly basis.

The mission of the Gia Nicole Angel Foundation is to enhance the daily functioning of a child with special needs and his or her family by awarding assistance through the purchase of a specific item or items. This includes children with any physical disability (such as, but not limited to: spina bifida, paralysis, missing limbs) or illness (such as, but not limited to: cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, cancer).

Funds are awarded on a case by case basis with preference given to lower income and single parent families. Families who wish to receive assistance must complete an application and demonstrate financial need. Applications are accepted throughout the year!

ACTION FOR AUTISM helps families attain the care, treatment, and educational support they may not otherwise be able to receive. Funds assist with cost of schooling, physical, occupational, and speech therapies; provide care and support for children and families; help parents learn how to better support and teach their child; and also help families attain other services specific to the needs of their child.

Rest Haven Children’s Help Fund

Rest Haven Children's Help Fund provides funds for health related services for children in San Diego and Imperial counties of California when no other funds are available. They provide one time or short term funding for health related needs for individual children who meet their eligibility requirements. Funds are also provided to assist health care development and to purchase needed services.

 

The Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism Family Grant Program

A grant for low and moderate income families of children with Asperger Syndrome or related disorders who live in New England (Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island, or Connecticut). Provides grants to enhance the daily functioning of a child with a physical disability or illness from lower income families for life-changing equipment, medical supplies, essential family bills, specialized camps, and therapeutic toys. Up to $1,000 maximum one-time grant allowance per recipient family. Apply online.

 

Zane’s

Northeast Ohio

An organization assisting families dealing with special needs in the Northeast Ohio counties of Ashtabula, Ashland, Carroll, Columbiana, Cuyahoga, Erie, Geauga, Holmes, Huron, Lake, Lorain, Mahoning, Medina, Portage, Richland, Stark, Summit, Trumbull, Tuscarawus, and Wayne.

Funds awarded from the Family Support Fund initiative help to pay for camps, therapies, respite, medical expenses, assistive devices, and adaptive equipment needed to meet daily challenges. Families may apply for funding once yearly.

 

CP State

CP State, in partnership with the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation, provides individuals residing in New York State with disabilities grant funds to fill in the funding gaps for individuals when other sources have been exhausted. The Community Health Outreach Project, or CHOP, provides financial assistance for the purchase of equipment, services, supplies, and other supports needed by individuals with intellectual, developmental, and other significant disabilities when all other funding opportunities fall short.

An organization which gives a grant of up to $500 towards a doctor’s visit or therapy for a patient of any age who is terminally ill or in a life threatening situation. Grant is paid directly to the provider. You may re-apply yearly.
