Bituach Leumi - Tips

Often asked, and good to know. (From an Imamother post.)
If a person can't do four out of the six important steps alone (bathroom, showering, getting up and down, dressing, feeding and bladder/bowel control) then s/he will be eligible for 16 hours a week from bituach leumi.
That runs, during most months, to about 1800 NIS a month for coverage. If you get the 16 hours you are also eligible to have full time foreign health care which runs between $700-$900 a month plus bituach leumi for the health care worker and vacation pay for the health care worker, finders fee for the agency which can be up to $1500, and finally, 100 shekel a week travel.
(Other factors include needing constant supervision, and being a danger to oneself or others. And mobility in one's home.)

Bituach Leumi help- the following place will help you get the correct amount of nekudot needed to get expenses covered: (I think that they take a percentage but may well be worth all the time and aggravation of gettting it by yourself)- 03-575-3511. (you may want to call first and check into it....)
