L’espoir Shalva is a non profit organization that works to meet the various therapeutic needs of the Orthodox community in Montreal.
They specialize in facilitating access to the medical system, with a focus on mental health, the elderly, and special needs.
They also run seminars, educational evenings, and support groups for various special needs, mental health issues, post-partum depressions, and many other issues. These meetings are run in English.

Ten Yad of Ottowa

Ten Yad is a chesed organization dedicated to supplying the various types of help and support that all of their fellow Jews in Ottowa need in times of life-altering situations.
Some of their services include:
- Circle of support—Ten Yad creates a circle of support made of friends and neighbors of the person in need. They coordinate meals, carpools, babysitting, and all other support services until the person’s situation returns to normal.
- Kosher meals for new mothers, the ill, or those otherwise incapacitated.
- Kosher pantry in local hospitals containing non-perishable food items, electric candles for Shabbos lighting, siddurim, chumashim, Jewish directory, and other reading materials.

4. Bikur Cholim Services such as:
Hospital visitation
Homebound visitation
Respite care
5. Welcome packages for various neighborhoods including some basic home necessities and a resource guide containing addresses, telephone numbers, and websites.
6. Emergency Shabbos Transportation—arrangements have been made for Westway Taxi (613-727-0101 code #613) to provide transportation to medical services on Shabbos and Yom Tov. Drivers will open and close doors and carry bags for passengers to minimize chillul Shabbos.
7. Chevra Tehillim Team will collectively recite the entire Sefer Tehillim as a zechus for individuals undergoing a serious procedure.
