DISPOSABLE SUCTION TOOTHBRUSHES
Suction toothbrushes are perfect for doing mouth care and cleaning teeth for patients who are at risk of aspiration using regular tooth brushing. Though normally used in hospitals and nursing homes, they are often used by medically fragile disabled patients being cared for at home.
The disposable toothbrush head is attached to a suction machine, so that the water and toothpaste can be quickly suctioned out of the mouth.
These disposable suction toothbrushes are not cheap, but well worth using for patients that cannot use regular tooth brushes due to serious risk of aspiration. Not all insurance plans will pay for them. In some states, they are reimbursable through family reimbursement programs.
