IN-HOSPITAL KOSHER HOSPITALITY ROOMS - FLORIDA

Kosher hospitality rooms are in-hospital rooms stocked with kosher food and drinks, reading material, Jewish religious needs, and other amenities for use by Jewish patients and their families. For information or assistance, call the organization listed below as servicing that hospital’s room.

Mount Sinai Medical Center

Kosher food is available in the Cafeteria on the 2nd floor of the De Hirsch Meyer Tower (Main Building). The food is located in a refrigerated case off to the right side with ORB supervision. There are pre-packaged foods – sandwiches, sushi, yogurt and more. There is ice cream available as well.

The Bikur Cholim Room in the Samuel Jacobson Healthcare Center (4304 Alton Rd) at Mount Sinai Medical Center is available to visiting family members on the Sabbath and Holidays. The Peterseil Bikur Cholim Room is located at ​4000 Alton Rd, Miami Beach. It has been dedicated by the Peterseil Family in memory of their husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather Pinchas Peterseil, z”l. The suite is large enough to accommodate an individual or a small family (4-6 family members) and comes equipped with two beds, port-a-crib, fold-away bed, dinette set, small kitchenette, and full bath.

University of Miami Hospital

          8th Floor Bikur Cholim Room.

          This kosher hospitality room features a kosher kitchen, sofa, tables, and a library with siddurim and other religious items and texts.

          Rabbi Yehuda Kaploun and Rabbi Yochanan Klein are on call to assist Jewish visitors.  Mark Rosenberg will arrange all chessed shel emes issues.
