An incurable neurodegenerative disease affecting mostly older people causing the death of brain cells. In the early stages, the main symptoms are forgetfulness and difficulty with common tasks. In later stages, the person loses the ability to cope with almost all functions of daily life. There is currently no cure for Alzheimer’s, but there are drugs to help somewhat control the symptoms.
