Primary Billiary Cirrhosis

An autoimmune liver disease which is characterized by inflammatory destruction of the small bile ducts within the liver that progresses slowly to cirrhosis (scarring of the liver tissue, leading to complications).  About 90% of patients are women.  See cirrhosis
