Hypotension

Low blood pressure.  Abnormally low blood pressure can cause lightheadedness or fainting.  It is usually not a major cause for concern.  However, it can also be a symptom of nerve or endocrine disorders, severe bleeding, dehydration, or the result of prolonged bed rest.  In such cases, the underlying cause must be treated.
