My daughter has "mild" CP. Her cognitive function is near normal (she has some learning disabilities) and she walks independently. She has had intensive physical therapy all along. At 4 years old she had SDR (selective dorsal rhisomtomy), an operation not performed in Israel but popular in the US for certain types of CP. I believe this operation was instrumental in her being able to walk independently. She began walking at 6 years old. Therapies and interventions we use or have used: hippotherapy, Feldenkrais, regular physical therapy, Therasuit therapy, Theratogs. She will be having a bi-rotational osteotomy in the next 1-2 years.
