Cataract

A painless clouding of the eye’s lens that keeps light from reaching the retina, resulting in blurred vision.  Symptoms are gradual blurring of vision, poor night vision, double vision, and the perception of excessive glare from sun or headlights.  Treatment is surgical removal of the clouded lens and replacement with an artificial lens.  About 90% of people who undergo this surgery report improved vision
