Starting the School Year Off Right with Complex Kids
Contact: https://www.drilyssabass.com/summit-fall2024
Parents get stuck in power struggles with kids with brain-based differences because they simply don’t realize, this child needs a really DIFFERENT approach. They’ll (correctly) try the classic rewards + consequences + consistency = behavior change method. And it just. won’t. work. for these kids. Instead, these approaches spark intense frustration and despair for an on-her-last-nerve mommy. We’re gathering some of the most experienced professionals in the Jewish world to give you Back to School confidence. These people really get it and they’ll share the unique perspective, hope and practical parenting tools that can create real change for your child. Registration requested.

Location Lighthouse Guild Technology Center 250 West 64th Street New York, New York

AIRA (Access to Information through Remote Assistance) is a service which connects people who are blind or visually impaired to a professional agent who provide real-time visual information through a smartphone or smart glasses. Whether its sorting through a stack of important medical documents, finding your way in an unfamiliar environment or identifying the right medication, accurate descriptive guidance for someone with vision loss can make the difference.
This workshop, joined by an AIRA representative, will provide a comprehensive introduction to AIRA, featuring demonstrations, firsthand user experiences and discussion on its use. Did you know, while AIRA is a pay-for subscription plan, it can be used at certain partner businesses for free? Or that everyone can use up to 5 minutes per day at no cost! Join our Tech In Session to learn more including other ways you can use AIRA. Registration requested.
