Jamie Hayes of Savannah, Georgia lost both his father and his mother by the time he was 6 years old. Though he missed his parents, he got tired of seeing people looking sad all of the time. He told his aunt Barbara, now his guardian,  that he wants to do something to make people smile.

They bought a supply of small toys and hand them out to people in the street, bringing a smile to their faces. So far, Jamie has earned over 500 smiles and lots of hugs. Jamie has found his purpose in life. This young orphan’s goal is to make 33,000 people smile.
